RCS Senior Phi Ta Named Semifinalist for Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship

Phi Ta has been named a semifinalist for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program, one of the nation’s most competitive and prestigious scholarships for high achieving high school seniors.
This year, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation received more than 6,500 applications from students representing over 4,100 high schools across all 50 states and United States territories. Only 568 students nationwide were selected as semifinalists and only 10 in Mississippi.
“We are extremely proud of Phi,” said Kristal Sisson, Principal of Resurrection Catholic Middle and High School. “She is exceptional in every way and truly embodies the Resurrection Catholic School motto of truth, honor, and integrity. Phi exemplifies excellence in every way, an outstanding student and a natural leader.”
According to the Foundation, Cooke semifinalists demonstrate extraordinary academic achievement, ambition, and talent. The Cooke College Scholarship is designed to help outstanding students graduate with minimal debt and can provide up to 55,000 dollars per year to attend any accredited undergraduate institution. In addition to financial support, scholars receive college planning assistance, ongoing advising, and access to a national network of Cooke Scholars.
Phi Ta’s selection as a semifinalist places her among the top students in the nation and reflects a strong commitment to academic excellence and leadership.
