Resurrection Catholic School students Evelyn Lachaussee and Eli Coats were crowned Queen Victoria and King Victor at the 78th annual RCS Carnival Ball on February 11, 2023. Evelyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Lachaussee. She is a junior at RCS and is a 3rd generation student who has attended Resurrection since Kindergarten. She is a member of Sacred Heart Parish. Evelyn is the 4th member of her family to reign as Queen Victoria. Her Aunt Chris Maier Blackwell was Victoria the 38th, her Aunt Ellen Maier Allred was Victoria the 45th, and her mother Alice was Victoria the 47th.
Elijah is the son of Michele and Dwayne Coats. He is a junior at Resurrection and has attended RCS for 7 years. Eli is a 3rd generation student who attends Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church.
Senior Mary Walker Foster and Junior Ryan Roth served as this year’s Grand Duchess and Duke.
The theme of this year’s ball was The Splendor of Versailles. The Resurrection Catholic School Carnival Ball is the oldest continuing Children’s ball of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Students from PK-4 to 12th grade are invited to participate in the ball each year. Though some aspects of the ball may change from year to year, this tradition provides not only financial support for RCS, but also fond memories for RCS families to treasure in years to come.
