SEPTEMBER ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Victoria Demetropoulos Dotson, RCS Class of 2012
By Mary Walker Foster
Victoria Demetropoulos Dotson, a graduate of the class of 2012 from Resurrection Catholic High School, is now 28 years old and happily married to Johnathan Dotson. The couple resides in Colorado Springs, CO. Victoria and her siblings all attended and graduated from RCS. One of Victoria’s fondest memories at RCS is when the school reinstated a football team and the many pep rallies. She also enjoyed her class service projects. “Being a senior and going to the elementary school and the Jackson County Exceptional School were some of my favorite times.” In describing how Catholic education impacted her life, Victoria explained, “Catholic education became a sense of who I was and what I stood for; it gave me a great foundation for college when having to make important life decisions.” During her time at RCS she became very involved in clubs and especially Campus Ministry; she said she will never forget the memories she made with the underclassmen. After high school she attended the University of Mississippi where she earned both a Bachelors and a Masters degree, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. She now works as a mental health counselor. Some of Victoria’s parting advice for current students was, “Be present where you are. It can be exciting looking towards college, but enjoy the time you have now, get involved as much as you can in clubs like Campus Ministry, sports, and especially getting to know your teachers. Get to know your small community and appreciate it.”
