RCS Names Paul Thompson 2026 Homecoming Grand Marshal

Resurrection Catholic School is proud to announce Mr. Paul Thompson as the 2026 RCS Homecoming Grand Marshal.
Few people represent the history, faith, and spirit of Resurrection Catholic School as beautifully as Mr. Paul. An alumnus of Our Lady of Victories Catholic School, Class of 1960, Paul’s connection to Catholic education in Pascagoula has continued throughout his entire life. His children and grandchildren attended OLV/RCS, and today, even his great-grandchildren are part of the RCS family, a remarkable legacy spanning four generations.
Paul has also given generously of his time and talents to support RCS. Over the years, he has served on the RCS Maintenance Committee, Eagle Legacy Foundation, and Eagle Legacy Debt Relief Committee. His leadership and dedication have played an important role in strengthening the school and helping secure its future.
When asked how he felt about being selected as Homecoming Grand Marshal, Paul responded:
“It’s an honor to be selected as Grand Marshal. Two of my favorite things are RCS and parades, so I am sure I will have a great time!”
For Paul, RCS is more than a school. It is a place filled with memories, friendships, faith, and family.
“I have so many fond memories of OLV. My classmates and I were close because of the small school atmosphere. We were like a family. We had excellent teachers who loved and cared about us. We felt supported by the sisters and priests that taught us each day. It was and is still a wonderful school that is special in so many ways.”
Paul’s commitment to his Catholic faith extends well beyond RCS. He is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he is involved with the Knights of Columbus and the Pour for a Purpose Committee.
This Homecoming celebration also comes during an especially meaningful week for the Thompson family. Paul married his high school sweetheart, Margery, and this Sunday, the couple will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary at the Cathedral—another extraordinary testament to a life built upon faith, love, family, and commitment.
RCMHS Principal Kristal Sisson shared:
“Mr. Paul was one of the first people I met when I became principal. From our very first meeting, his deep love and commitment to RCS was palpable. He was instrumental in helping with the Bishop’s Debt Relief Campaign and is a large part of the reason RCS has no debt today. He is a dear friend to me and to RCS. His humility, kindness, servant’s heart, and faith are an example for us all.”
For more than six decades, Paul Thompson has remained connected to the school that helped shape him. From student, to parent, to grandparent, to great-grandparent, volunteer, supporter, and friend, his life reflects the enduring legacy of Catholic education and the special sense of family that continues to define Resurrection Catholic School.
Congratulations to our 2026 RCS Homecoming Grand Marshal, Mr. Paul Thompson! We are honored to celebrate you and grateful for the many ways you have served and loved RCS.
