Busy.  That’s one word that describes our Parent Spotlight for this month.  Gina Taylor not only works for FedEx, where she has been employed for the past twenty-eight years while while playing semi pro softball for 15 years, but she is also owner and operator of Shingle Mill Landing and somehow manages to donate hours and hours of her time at RCE where her son Carter is in the fifth grade. Gina is not only a devoted mother and wife, but also a constant volunteer on the RCE campus.

Gina joined the RCE family eight years ago when Carter began Pre-K4.  Gina, a 1985 graduate of Moss Point High School, wanted Carter to attend RCE for “the quality education and Christian environment.” Gina quickly became a familiar face on the RCE campus.  She and her husband Brett began volunteering immediately to help their new school family.  For many years, they have worked at the annual Lenten Fish Fry and the Spring Fling. “Gina is a genuine servant of God who loves Resurrection Catholic Schools and gives freely of her time and energy.  She is always positive and upbeat and always willing to help with any task,” says Patty Webb Fox, RCE Administrative Assistant.

The Lenten Fish Fry is, however, only one of the events that Gina volunteers for at RCE.  Recently, when Gina heard about the financial needs of the school, Gina went to RCMHS Principal Kristal Sisson and volunteered to maintain the lawn at RCE free of charge.  “I have known Gina for much of my life, so I know that she is a woman of character and integrity.  Gina has always been selfless.  She is one of the hardest working people I have ever met.  We appreciate her and her willingness to help our school.  We are blessed to have her and her precious family in our RCS school family.”

When Gina is not volunteering or working at FedEx, she can be found working the family business at Shingle Mill Landing or supporting her son Carter in his hobby of car racing.  She also enjoys playing golf.  Thank you, Gina Green Taylor, for blessing our school!  We are so happy that you are a part of the RCS family.
