June 23, 2025Introducing Coach Toben DuBose: RCS’s New Athletic Director Brings Decades of Experience and Dedication
RCS is proud to welcome Coach Toben DuBose as our new athletic director—a seasoned educator, veteran coach, and dedicated mentor with a career spanning over 28 years in teaching and 18 years in athletics. His deep-rooted passion for student development and sports excellence makes him a valuable addition to the RCS community.
Coach DuBose’s journey into education began in a unique way, while serving in the U.S. Navy as a meteorology instructor. During his time stationed at Keesler Air Force Base, he discovered a love for teaching that would shape the rest of his life. After leaving the military, he pursued a college education, earning degrees from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he also completed a Master of Science in Technical and Occupational Education with a minor in Instructional Technology.
His professional career includes teaching and coaching roles across the Moss Point and Pascagoula School Districts. Coach DuBose has led teams in football, basketball, volleyball, track, and bowling, with highlights including playoff appearances in volleyball and sending athletes to the state track meet. Beyond coaching, he helped establish polymer science programs in both districts and mentored students in robotics, demonstrating a strong commitment to both academic and athletic achievement.
As he steps into his role at RCS, Coach DuBose has clear goals in mind: “I would like to continue RCS’s compliance with MHSAA rules and see continued success in the sports they offer. For the teams that are struggling, I hope to be able to offer advice to lift them up,” he shared.
After recently retiring from the Pascagoula School District, Coach DuBose is enjoying his first summer off in 25 years—spending time outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman, and cherishing time with his grandson, Riley. He is also preparing for this exciting new chapter at RCS.
Coach DuBose’s personal story is as inspiring as his professional one. Raised in Caldwell, Idaho, he was the first in his family to graduate from high school. He and his wife, Allison, another dedicated educator at Pascagoula High School, have been married for 30 years. They are proud parents of their daughter Jordan, a recent graduate of Mississippi State University.
Whether it’s on the field, in the classroom, or behind the scenes, Coach DuBose brings heart, experience, and a strong vision to RCS athletics. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome!
