Carrying on a Coaching Legacy: Kelly Panter Jordan Named RCS Volleyball Coach

RCS Principal Kristal Sisson and Athletic Director Eric Denmark are pleased to announce that Kelly Panter Jordan has been selected as the new Resurrection Catholic Middle/High School Lady Eagle Volleyball Coach. Jordan has been hired to replace Coach Keith Tucker, who resigned last semester.
Coach Jordan was the Lady Eagle Assistant Coach during the 2023 season, and while it was her first year to coach volleyball, Coach Jordan is no stranger to athletics. RCMHS Athletic Director Coach Eric Denmark stated, “Coach Kelly Jordan comes from a long line of highly competitive RCS athletes. Her grandfather Coach Glenn Murphy was a long-time coach here at RCS, and his children, including Coach Jordan’s mother Eileen, were outstanding athletes. Coach Jordan and her siblings were natural athletes who excelled in sports at RCS. She is competitive and will do whatever it takes to continue the legacy of volleyball success at RCMHS.” Principal Kristal Sisson added, “Coach Kelly (Jordan) understands athletics and coaching. Most importantly, she understands the core values of Resurrection Catholic School since she is a current RCS teacher of fifteen years. I am confident that she will be not only an excellent coach, but also, more importantly, she will be a spiritual leader for our ladies.”
Coach Jordan is excited to begin this new journey. When asked how she feels about her new position, Coach Jordan responded: “I am honored to coach in the gym that is named after my grandfather Coach Glen Murphy. He coached and taught at RCS for thirty-two years. I grew up attending RCS where I have many wonderful memories of playing sports. RCS athletics has always been a huge part of my life, and I am ready and excited for this new challenge.” When asked what her goals for the 2024-2025 team will be, Coach Jordan stated: “I know I inherited my grandfather’s competitive spirit, and I aspire to have his patience, humility, and enthusiasm. My goal is to get the most out of these ladies so that they reach their potential both on and off the court. I learned so much from Coach Tucker, and I know that I have ‘big shoes’ to fill in this volleyball program. Coach Tucker has a profound knowledge of the game and created a culture where players succeeded at the highest level. I appreciate that Coach Tucker will continue to be a great resource and mentor for me in the game. I am optimistic and ready to get started!”
